Temperature Data Logger KT50
The KT50 temperature data logger is a powerful, compact unit, ideal for the food and catering industry, perfect for fridges and freezers in restaurants and refrigerated transport/storage. This data logger has a storage capacity of 16,000 points with an temperature measurement accuracy of better than ±0.4°C between -20 and +70°C. The KT50 provides reliable temperature recordings from -40 to +70°C ensuring food stored in fridges and freezers is maintained at the correct temperature levels for all your HACCP requirements.
In the fast-paced food and catering industry, maintaining precise temperature control is not just a matter of compliance but also of ensuring the safety, quality, and freshness of products. Whether it’s monitoring temperatures during food storage, transportation, or preparation, having the right equipment to track and document temperatures accurately is crucial. The KT50 Data Logger emerges as a vital tool for this purpose, offering a reliable, easy-to-use solution to ensure that temperature monitoring processes are in line with industry regulations.
What is the KT50 Data Logger?
The KT50 Data Logger is a state-of-the-art temperature monitoring device designed to help food safety managers, chefs, and food handlers ensure that their products stay within safe temperature ranges. It is a compact, highly accurate device that records temperature data over time, allowing users to track temperature fluctuations, identify potential risks, and make necessary adjustments in real-time or post-event
Flexible Data Logging Options
The data logger also features a useful magnetic backing, allowing the logger to be conveniently placed on vertical surfaces. This data logger offers a fast data download (1,000 points/second) and has two configurable set point alarms. The logger can record at intervals of 1 min up to 24 hours providing you with extensive options for recording data. The KT50 data logger is a very accurate and reliable solution for longer-term temperature measurements
Once sample rate is chosen (i.e how often you wish to record a reading), then simply decide the preferred method of recording data. The KT50 data logger can be programmed to record temperature measurements based on date and time or by total number of readings required. There is also the option to programme the logger so that the KT50 will start and stop logging on site - then simply press the OK button on the logger when you wish to start and stop recording. By programming your preferred measurement interval for logging, the data logger provides you with a permanent temperature record over a period of days, weeks or months.
Compliance and Documentation
For food businesses, especially those involved in food safety and regulatory compliance (e.g., HACCP – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), the KT50’s traceable calibration certificate is invaluable. It provides peace of mind that the logger is certified to meet stringent food safety regulations and can withstand audits from governing bodies.
When straightforward temperature readings are required, look no further than to the KT50 Data Logger.
Applications in the Food and Catering Industry
- Cold Storage and Refrigeration
The KT50 is an ideal choice for monitoring the temperature of refrigerated storage units, deep freezers, and chilled transportation, ensuring that perishable items remain at the correct temperatures and minimising the risk of spoilage. - Transportation and Delivery
For businesses that transport food, maintaining temperature control during transit is critical. The KT50 Data Logger can be placed in delivery trucks or containers, providing a record of temperatures throughout the journey, ensuring food arrives safely and in compliance with regulations. - Food Preparation Areas
In kitchens and catering environments, the KT50 Data Logger can be used to monitor the temperatures of food storage units such as blast chillers and freezers, ensuring the food remains within safe cooking ranges. - Catering Events
Catering companies can use the KT50 to monitor and record temperatures at large-scale events, ensuring that food remains at the correct temperature throughout the event, reducing the risk of foodborne illness.
How Does the KT50 Improves Food Safety and Operations?
The KT50 Data Logger can help food businesses in various ways:
- Preventing Foodborne Illnesses
By ensuring that food is stored at the correct temperature, the KT50 minimizes the risk of foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella and Listeria, which can thrive at improper temperatures. This enhances food safety, reduces the risk of contamination, and ensures that products are safe for consumption. - Improving Operational Efficiency
With automated temperature tracking and the ability to store temperature data for analysis, food businesses can streamline their operations. The KT50 helps reduce manual checks and provides immediate alerts for temperature anomalies, which can be addressed promptly, minimizing wastage and spoilage. - Simplifying Compliance
Regular monitoring and accurate data collection ensure that food businesses comply with food safety regulations, such as those imposed by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) or local health authorities. The KT50 Data Logger provides the documentation required during inspections, audits, or certification processes, reducing the time and effort needed to prove compliance. - Reducing Waste and Loss
By providing continuous, real-time data on temperature changes, the KT50 helps prevent costly mistakes, such as frozen food thawing or hot food cooling down too much. This proactive approach prevents product loss and minimizes waste, directly contributing to the bottom line.
