Sound level meters are portable, lightweight instruments designed to measure noise or sound levels by measuring sound pressure. These units can also be known as sound pressure level (SPL) meters, Dosimeters(dB) or noise meters. Measurements are recorded in decibels i.e. dB. Sound is captured using a microphone built into the meter which measures the level of sound and acoustics and this is displayed on the LCD.
